So Close. 167/365
It is so, so nearly done. I cannot WAIT to be done with exams. They’ve been awful this year. The actual exams haven’t been terrible, but the preparation for them has been ugh. Hopefully tomorrow will go well. Fingers crossed.
Also been thinking about some other stuff. But tomorrow is not the day to talk about that.
Goodnight.

Maths. 166/365
Today has been Maths. Lots of Maths. Maths everywhere. I can integrate like a boss. Show me parametric equations and I will destroy them. Give me a fraction and it shall be partialised. If I see (1+x)^n in front of me, it shall be expanded. Binomially.
I’ve gotten a lot better this weekend. Which is good! Tomorrow I can polish off some of the rough edges, improve my timing a bit and then sit down on Tuesday for my last exam. Praise. The. Lord.
Goodnight.

Aziz Ansari. 165/365
Went to see Aziz Ansari at the Hammersmith Apollo today. Dayummm. He’s a funny guy. It was a good gig. Some of his stuff is just brilliant. Very funny. Go see him, if you can. If you can’t, watch his other standup shows on Netflix. Worth your time fo sho.
Played some more Remember Me as well. That game could be so, so good. But the combat…man. I’ll finish the game this week and have a review up soon. It’s definitely a game I want to talk about.
Goodnight.

Fewer. 164/365
I didn’t really *get* The Last of Us yesterday. I was playing it without really loving it. Something changed in that today. I’m now massively in love with it.
The combat with the Clickers and Runners is incredible. It is tense, stealth based gameplay done brilliantly. Trying to sneak past them, strangling enemies without making too much noise…it’s great. I love it. The plot’s pretty great as well, and I can tell it’s going to improve. The one thing I don’t like is combat with other humans. But there hasn’t been that much of that, so far. Which is great.
Anyway. I really should sleep. See ya.

The Last of Us. 163/365
Got this today. Played about an hour, and I’m enjoying it. But I don’t get the hype. The prologue was superb, but the first level’s been pretty boring, to be honest. I’m not a huge fan of the gameplay. Hopefully the plot will pick up soon, and maybe that’s what makes it so perfect.
Anyway. Sat C3 today. Really don’t get all the hate: I thought it was fairly easy. Seems I’ll do quite well then come results day.
Goodnight.

Fed up. 163/365
I just want exams to be over. That’s all I want, to be honest. I’m so fed up of revision and papers and ugh. Just stop. Let it finish.
I’m also getting really fed up with people on Twitter and in the gaming community. The amount of misinformation and nonsensical hatred is getting on my nerves. Ugh. Who even cares at this point. People are annoying.
Goodnight.

iOS 7. 162/365
I’ve got my hands on the developer’s build of iOS 7, and I love it. Some people don’t like the new aesthetic, but it’s everything I love about UI. Thin, minimalistic fonts. Clean lines everywhere. No tacky skeuomorphism and lots of flatness. It’s great. Some of the new features are pretty cool too, especially Control Center, which is better than ANYTHING on Android. But yeah. I can’t wait for the full release, and all the bugs to be ironed out. Won’t take long now.
Game of Thrones finale was great as well. That was nice.

E3. 161/365
Today was crazy. So many things. Articles all over the place. Live Blogs, round ups, editorials…insanity. I didn’t do as much as I wanted to: all the video coverage fell through, for example. But anyway. I’ll live. I’ll write lots more tomorrow as well. See what I did do today over at talkingship.com. For now though, I desperately need sleep. See ya tomorrow.

Making. 160/365
Today I made a teleprompter. Because why not. It was surprisingly easy, actually: iPad box + cardboard box + glass frame + tons of Duck tape + iPad = teleprompter. It was also really quite satisfying to see it working once I was done. So I’ll be using that for filming all week.
Speaking of which…we’re totally ready to go. I’ll be involved in at least 15 posts tomorrow alone, and a few of those include filming and editing videos and podcasts. Cray cray. I’m still really looking forward to covering everything. It was great fun last year, and that was me by myself. Now that we’ve got about 5 other people helping, it’s going to be great.
Anyway, sleep. Got a late night tomorrow.
Bye.

Preparation. 159/365
E3 2013 starts on Monday, with 4 big conferences all in one day (not counting Apple’s WWDC conference, which occurs simultaneously with Microsoft’s event). We’re live blogging and video rounduping and editorialing everything that happens during the conferences, and we’ve already started our coverage with 3 ‘What to Expect’ articles. The preparation today and tomorrow is all a bit ridiculous, and a hell of a lot of effort. It’s totally going to be worth it, though. I always enjoy covering live events, and we’re really planning on knocking it out of the park this year. It’s either going to go brilliantly or all be a bit rubbish. But let’s be honest: it will be the former.
HYPE HYPE HYPE.
